The nose is deep and balanced with an oily character. The recognizable oily Bunna peat is friendly but evident, framed by salty and slightly medicinal notes. Lots of fruit: stewing pear, ripe pineapple, mango and raspberry, with a fresh, mineral layer and an anise-like edge. A totally different profile to casks 10166A to D. The palate is lively and assertive, tingling actively at the tongue edges and gliding into a soft palette of roasted fruit and mild spices. The finish is fresh and energetic, with an emphasis on red fruit and umami. Rumbles nicely after and lingers tantalizingly. An exciting and well-layered dram that continues to captivate.
