What a beauty of a nose! Unprecedentedly refined for a grain: silky, buttery and instantly hit the mark. Citrus notes of orange, golden berry and lime open the show, followed by deeper notes of Nutella, cedar, moss and leather. The alcohol is perfectly integrated. It is reminiscent of older grain classics, but livelier and more exciting. On the palate, it quickly builds to a rich, syrupy body with a hint of star anise. Not a trace of interfering grain, just pure flavor richness. A drizzle of water is possible, but not necessary. The finish is sticky and intense with plum, sultana, Nutella and a hint of tobacco. This is a grain that blows over everything. Top notch dram!
